Ms. Ella Beavers is an esteemed advisory member of the Board of Directors at VEER Consulting Services. With over 25 years of experience, Ella has played a pivotal role in the success of top international banks and MFIs across 18 countries. Her expertise lies in training, microfinance development, social enterprise, financial institution management, and strategic leadership. Early in her career, Ella consulted for the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, working on product development, credit technology, and management development with local banks and financial institutions in developing countries such as Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, and Kosovo. This gave her valuable experience in adapting to and embracing diverse environments.
In 2006, Ella joined FINCA International, a leading microfinance institution with successful programs in 23 countries across Africa, Latin America, Eurasia, and the Middle East. She served as COO and CEO of various FINCA banks in Azerbaijan, Kosovo, and Afghanistan. Throughout her career, Ella has excelled in various roles such as consultant, COO, CEO, Deputy Regional Director, and Development Academy Director.
Besides her professional career, Ella is also the CEO and founder of Sophia Properties, a real estate investment company. She is a graduate of the ABA Stonier School of Banking and is fluent in three languages, with conversational skills in two others. She is also an accomplished athlete and was featured on National Public Radio in 2006 as the second-highest-ranked female boxer in Mongolia. Ella currently resides in Cary, just a short distance from the RDU airport, with a suitcase always packed and ready to go.
